To Suck, to be Sucked…

For me, the perfect weekend is like the one just past.

I give.

I take.

I exchange.

I am left drained…physically, and emotionally…fulfilled…satisfied, yet only enough…to want more.

How Vampirific!

I knew there was a reason I was so drawn to those sensuous bloodsuckers…I hope yours was just as “SUCKY”…Happy Monday, xxx c.

I just finished the start of a new vampy suspense series by Christopher Buecheler, The Blood That Bonds. I originally picked it up because it was FREE on Nook…still it had solid reviews and since i read at least one or two books a week I thought it was a good gamble…and it was. While the actual technical writing is only fair, the author does a great job of creating characters that you really care about and then creating a backdrop and plotline that send you on an emotional ride…definitely a cliff hanger ending…but if you are in the mood for a quick read with a kick ass main character and a world where vamps abound…give this one a shot! xxx c

With great erotic horror fiction writers like:

  • Laurell K. Hamilton
  • Charlaine Harris
  • MaryJanice Davidson
  • Angela Knight
  • Vickie Taylor

Bite (2005) is the perfect collection of Vampire Erotica to keep you toasty on a Halloween Night, here’s a taste:

Liam groaned again and shifted his hands to her hips, helping her to find a rhythm they both liked. She bent forward and bit him at the neck; she couldn’t help it. He shivered and moved against her faster and she met this thrusts with his own urgency. Oh glory, it was wonderful to with someone again, to have that connection, to feed, to be fucked. Liam was giving her everything she longed for, all at once. It was almost too much; for a moment she was nearly delirious happiness. the she realized she has mistaken her orgasm for delirium. (MaryJanice Davidson, Biting in Plain Sight)

I hope it warms you…as much as it did me! xxx c

Going through my bookshelves, I found a treasured Anne Rice volume from the famed Vampire Chronicles (Yes, the ones with Lestat)…Memnoch The Devil…paging through, I realized how I loved the way in which this book combines Ontological debate, as to the existence of God…with “solid” historical evidence backed the accounts of demons and vampires!

Classic and Anne Rice and beautifully done, if a bit philosophical and Socratic at times. Here’s taste of a debate between Memnoch (The Devil) and The Lord concerning the value if human suffering:

‘Memnoch, to me we human beings are all still a part of Nature, as I said, only humans are better than animals. Yes, humans cry out against suffering and they are conscious of it when they suffer, but in a sense they behave exactly like the lower animals, in that suffering improves them and drives the towards evolutionary advance. They are quick-witted enough to see it’s value, where the animals only lean to avoid suffering by instinct. Humans can actually be improved within one lifetime of suffering. But they are part of nature still. The world will unfold the way it always has, full of surprises. Some of those surprises will be horrid, others wondrous, and some beautiful. But what is known for certain is that the world will continue to grow and Creation will continue to unfold.’

‘Yes, Lord,’ I said, ‘but surely suffering is an evil thing…I see the ruin if hope and love and family; the destrucion of peace of mind; I see pain beyond endurance; I see man buckle under this, and fall into bitterness and hate.’

‘You haven’t looked deep enough, Memnock.’ (p. 270-271)

I must say I do enjoy the fact that Rice has the Devil taking the side against human suffering….it seems quite fitting…doesn’t it?

Anyway, pick it up if you are in the mood for a little religious debate with your sexy-vamps!

Enjoy your HUMP DAY, xxx c.

Before She Told Us About Vampires…Anne Rice ‘GAVE’ Some REAL Dirty!

Anne Rice; of course we know and love her as the author of those highly-readable VAMPIRE novels, before vampires were THE “IT” THING I must add, however prior to blood-and-fangs Anne Rice gave us some real naughty! By naughty I am not referring to romance, or even much of the (light-by-comparison) erotica I have reviewed in this blog, rather Ms. Rice gave us…REAL SADOMASOCHISTIC-style erotica. Stories meant to titillate, turn-on, and stimulate…your body and your mind.

Sound like a contradiction? Well it is…to those unfamiliar with the world of sadomasochism (or BDSM, in common nomenclature)…in reality it is a dialectic, or two seemingly incompatible concepts that in fact can and do coexist.

As a therapist I have worked with more than a few clients involved in the BDSM lifestyle and can say that by far the most compelling and fascinating aspect of this lifestyle is the complex understanding and manipulation of interpersonal power dynamics…dynamics that are existent in everyone’s, daily life. Yes, I will concede that BDSM is an exaggeration of these dynamics, but the emotions…the layers of experience are extremely relatable…I think, to even the most naive voyeur. Interestingly enough…it was A.N. Roquelaure (aka Anne Rice) who introduced me to these…intersections in sexuality…in emotionality…in LIFE…with her:

3 books (Published in the early 1980’s):

The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty

Beauty’s Punishment

Beauty’s Release

There is actually an interesting history on the banning of these books (Please click HERE) in several book stores and her choice of Nom De Plume’s true meaning is “under the cloak”, which is an allusion to erotica’s darker origins. Aside from the controversy, these books were quite influential, to me…they represented not only a real introduction to erotica but a true study of human power-dynamics through the lens of sadomasochism…Raw…Hard…yet, simultaneously capturing Softness…& Love…all running parallel to one another beautifully:

The Queen’s hand was under her sex as if weighing it, feeling the roundness and heaviness of the lips, pinching them.  “Arch your back,” said the Queen, ” and lift your buttocks, little cat in heat.”  Beauty obeyed, her eyes flooded with tears of shame.  She was trembling violently as she took a deep breath, and against her will felt the Queen’s fingers commanding her passion, squeezing the flame so it burned hotter. Surely Beauty’s pubic lips were swelling, their juices flowing, no matter how bitterly she struggles against it!  In a blur Beauty saw Prince Alexi move to the dressing table.  And then before her, propped against a silk pillow, was the mirror, tilted so she could see the Queen’s smooth white face distinctly.  The dark eyes terrified her.  The Queen commenced to spank her.  One great hard slap after another fell on her buttocks, and if a paddle had ever been worse she could not remember it.

(The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty)

These books are long gone now…borrowed and never returned…even though I bought double copies of each…BUT their impact…lingers…like DESIRE itself.

I do believe I will be purchasing and rereading these HOT little gems…perhaps you will too! Do tell me what you think…I welcome your thoughts and desire…
