Her Flower…a Visualization of Beauty

“There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty.” (Steve Maraboli)

Lately, I find myself musing over the female form as reflected in nature…which is probably apparent from my recent postings…more specifically, I believe this association is actually about the unapologetic stance of nature contrasted with all of the shame we carry regarding our own bodies…and how saddening that reality is.

Holding that thought, I stumbled across the photography of Andy Amyx recently and was pleased to see truly beautiful depictions of the female form conjoined with nature…that seem…truly unapologetic.

“Beauty shouldn’t be about changing yourself to achieve an ideal or be more socially acceptable. Real beauty, the interesting, truly pleasing kind, is about honoring the beauty within you and without you. It’s about knowing that someone else’s definition of pretty has no hold over you.” (G.
