Written in…BLOOD!

“No one ever thinks of how much blood it costs.”Dante Alighieri

The raw sensuality of the underground club scene is immediately evident as we follow an unsuspecting human as he stumbles through the crowd of increasingly aggressive (and as yet un-revealed) vamps…The techno beats hit hard…and drop-by-drop…it starts to rain…BLOOD!

BLOOD begins to spew from the warehouse’s sprinkler system and what was once a night out dancing has become a blood bath of flesh and fiends writhing in the gore.

One female vamp purrs to the human, “What’s wrong baby?” And is answered with a frightened shriek…as the vampires reveal their fangs in what we are to expect will soon become a feeding frenzy. Until, crawling through the blood soaked floor, our human comes upon a savior…BLADE.

The blood bath scene from Blade (1998) is a favorite, and arguably one of the most dramatic opening scenes of any film.

This may seem an odd way to return to blogging…after my weeks of absence, but sometimes what inspires is hardly predictable or easily understood…rather it should be grasped, held, and swiftly expressed!

It’s nice to be back. Thank you, to the writing Gods and Goddesses who have once again…returned to me. And a very heartfelt THANK YOU to those friends who have quietly nudged.

“Writing is a socially acceptable form of schizophrenia.”  ~E.L. Doctorow

See you a little later, for a return to The Dungeon!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Monday’s Poem: ‘Halloween,’ by Sandra Beasley

Somewhere in town tonight,

a woman is discovering

her inner Sexy Pirate.

This is not to be confused

with one’s inner Sexy Witch,

Sexy Kitten, Sexy Librarian,

Sexy Bo Peep, Sexy Vampire,

Sexy Race Car Driver, or

inner Sexy Ophthalmologist.

She forgot to buy ribbon,

so she threads the corset’s eyelets

with gym shoes laces.

She re-poofs the sleeves

of her buccaneer blouse.

Arrrr, she says to the mirror.

Argh, the mirror sighs in return.

Once I asked my mother why

anyone would wear tights like that

to net a fish.

Wouldn’t your legs get cold?

Wouldn’t your heels slip

on the wet deck of a ship? Shush,

my mother said, adjusting the wig

on her Sexy Cleopatra.

Somewhere in town tonight,

a sitter sets out the pumpkin.

A girl studies its fat head.

They punch its eyes in, so

it can see. They cut its mouth out,

so it can smile. Now you bring it

to life, the sitter will say.

And where its seeds had been,

the girl will place a flame.

My Cartoon Crush…Vampirella!

Vampirella comix…something to bite into! (Taken with instagram)

These are the NEW covers, now that she has been taken-up my Dynamite…if you are unfamiliar with my fav femme fatale here is a quick bio:

Vampirella was originally presented as an inhabitant of the planet Draculon, a world where people lived on blood and where blood flowed in rivers. Draculon orbits two twin suns that were causing droughts across the planet, marking certain doom for Vampirella and her race. The race of which Vampirella was born, the Vampiri, were able to transform themselves into bats at will, sprout wings when required, and drink blood.

The story begins with the inhabitants of Draculon dying slowly due to the drying up of its blood. The last few lie dying when a spaceship from Earth crashes on the planet. Vampirella, sent to investigate, is attacked; retaliating, she discovers that the astronauts have blood in their veins. In order for her race to survive, she manages to pilot the ship back to Earth where her adventures begin. Vampirella becomes a “good” vampire, and devotes her energy to ridding our world of the homegrown “evil” kind.

Harris Comics revived Vampirella in the miniseries Morning In America, written by Kurt Busiek. Soon thereafter, Vampirella was established as being brainwashed by her sister and brother (in the story “Mystery Walk”) and led to believe she was from the planet Drakulon. She learned that she was, in fact, the daughter of Lilith, whom popular medieval Jewish lore depicts as the first wife of Adam. Lilith would not submit before Adam and was cast out of Eden. She mated with demons in hell, giving birth to vampires who would kill the offspring of Adam and Eve on Earth. Later, she sought redemption from God and gave birth to Vampirella, whom she sent to Earth to kill all evil vampires. According to this account, Drakulon was a part of Hell where Lilith lived and ruled. —wikipedia

Liam groaned again and shifted his hands to her hips, helping her to find a rhythm they both liked. She bent forward and bit him at the neck; she couldn’t help it. He shivered and moved against her faster and she met this thrusts with his own urgency. Oh glory, it was wonderful to with someone again, to have that connection, to feed, to be fucked. Liam was giving her everything she longed for, all at once. It was almost too much; for a moment she was nearly delirious happiness. the she realized she has mistaken her orgasm for delirium. I hope it warms you…as much as it did me! xxx c
